Oak Seat
55 ferns? oh wow, Martin. Love them all. And that's what gives your garden its lush tropical feel. Pity you wouldn't put up more albums. Deborahs lot isn't enough. :)
Hi Jacinta, I will put up plenty of pictures during the year, so you can follow the story for good or ill. Thanks :-)
You could start TOMORROW. :) Can't wait to see them.
Not with the ferns though, as they are all dormant, or tatty and needing to be cut back, still I am planting a lot of Deb's Barnhaven primroses through them so I will show you that tomorrow evening.
The oak seat is a lovely idea, always nice to have somewhere to sit and admire the garden :O)
The ferns will be gorgeous you must be sore after planting them all.
Aw brilliant. Love primroses. I was thinking of trying to collect them. Only have 4 at the moment.
yup
Hey Martin, did you ever have a look at 'My Paintings' Album. I did one of Shackleton's 'Endurance'. You might be interested.
WILL have to look at that. Not this evening I have to log all the ferns into files and into book. Very interested in scott and Shackles, and Gismo I am indeed a bit wrecked as I engraved a copper label to go with each one and I like to plant properly as it is for life.
Wow! Fair dues to you.
Good hot soak or shower will do wonders for your muscles, you will be in bits tomorrow. The labels sound like a lovely idea.
The copper labels ARE lovely. I had bought them for my primrose collection, but in a fit of generosity gave them to the old man for his ferns!
Hee hee. Deborah, how many varieties do you have? Are the seeds for sale?
PS He is not THAT old!!!!!!
Thanks Jacinta
He's nearly eleven years older than me.... and I'm pretty old :)
Martin , you garden looks great full of character. Get some pics up in the photso section would love to see more
Oh, about the Primroses, I have lots. And lots. I have had a love affair with them for years. I will happily save seed for you in the summer to help you build your collection up (no money involved :)
And he is 57. Ha ha. You're not much older than me. :) But age is only a number. We are all young at heart.
I love them too. They are such an unassuming little plant. And will fit into any planting scheme. And sooooo pretty. ALL of them. That would be excellent. Thanks a lot for that. :)
Ignoring the ferns, I love the seat! Looks fantastic.
Your seat is wonderful and with all your planting it'll be a real haven for all who make the trip your way. You and Deborah are so dedicated to gardening it's definitely a way of life. Would love to see some more photos also.
Martin that looks great, well done. You did some day yesterday.
