Feeding Amaryllis
Last spring I put my 3 Christmas Amaryllis in a big pot and fed them while the leaves died down. They flowered for me again this spring - not all at the same time - but they were super. A few people commented that the display was really big but I didn't think much of it and thought it was due to the large pot lifting them a bit higher than usual.
This Christmas I also bought 3 Amaryllis and recently potted them into a large pot together.
I couldn't believe the difference in height when I put the 2 same-sized large pots in the same room today. Last year's Amaryllis must really have benefited from feeding up because they are much bigger than this years.
All of the bulbs were bought in Lidl/Aldi so they are not different qualities.
As a footnote, the Amaryllis 'Sumatra' that Clare gave me has been potted up separately as it is a bit different.
