After 5 Years...

After 5 Years...

Finally, my second Magnolia has flowered.

It has been at least 5 years since I planted it.

Every year I've searched for flowers but there have never been any.

And this year - a single solitary flower on top : )

Do you know the name of that one? I planted a small "Susan" last year, purchased in Lidl. So far no flowers so I guess I will need patience!!

That's great Rachel, even better when you have to wait!

I think it's a soulangiana, Dorothy. Susan is pink. I have 4 Magnolia soulangianas (one still in a pot). I really should have gotten a variety!

Great and well worth the wait .

Patience is a virtue. Next year there will be more flowers.

I bought 2 small magnolias - one was susan, they had flowers when I bought them, have them 3 years now, not grown at all and no flowers since. I have them in pots in a sunny spot but no joy. At least one flower is getting there, hope next year it will have much more for you

Rachel was the magnolia moved? (they hate that) I had a Star Magnolia I moved from Naas and it's looked sad for 3 years but is flowering (sparcly) this year. Great that it finally came round.  :-)

I hope I get more flowers next year.

Susan sounds like a good option if it flowers so quickly, Rosburke.

Never moved, Bill.

That's a lovely magnolia Rachel now that it has started flowering hopefully it will improve every year.

Periwinkle l got a small susan  in Aldi earlier this year and it has three flowers so hopefully it will produce more next year.
