hardening

hardening

I'm back on the site again after a few days without internet.

Actually I think I got more gardening done without the distraction of the internet.

I've started hardening off my greenhouse plants in earnest. I did some potting on, hubby sowed some veg seeds in trays (it's new for him), I did some planting, some mulching and hubby cut the grass. I also started work on my mini bog garden and hubby removed the plastic membrane from 'Rapunzel's Forest' and sprayed it. It's great to see those big swathes of plastic coming out of the garden!

At this stage, everywhere I turn I see jobs waiting to be done as we tumble headlong into summer.

Welcome back Rachel. You won't need much hardening now. It's warmer outdoors than it was indoors last week, so I think tou can put them straight out. That's what I did. Hope I won't be sorry if we get anothe blast of frost.

Was wondering where you were! Yes I'm already playing catch-up in the garden too, and its not likely to let up any time soon!

How are you going about hardening off as I'm a bit of a chicken at the moment.  Out during the day in at night?  I've only been putting out what I know are a little bit hardier.

Thanks, everyone. Very frustrating not being able to get on the site.

I'm not planting out until 1 June this year, PCON, I don't trust the weather (cerinthe excepted).

Me too, Una. Out during the day, in at night. I'm putting out anything that's been in the greenhouse for a while and is more than an inch high.
