Right, I'm officially sulking!

The Sarracenia I was growing from seed is not actually Sarracenia. I just realised today.

I sowed this seed last autumn in my cold greenhouse and was delighted when they seemed to germinate in spring. I was quite sure they were actually Sarracenia as the same plant has come up in all the 24 cells. Having now googled images of Sarracenia seedlings, this one looks like some moss or mould actually.

Not talking to anyone for the next 20 minutes then I'll be better : )

20 min. are up. To be upset over what you don't have is to waste what you do have. Sorry you lost them, but they may not be lost yet. Don't give up yet.

Oh I would be so annoyed. Know how much you like those mine didn't germinate either.

I just realised I have pot of seeds germinating and forgot to put the label on it so haven't a clue what they are - sorry to hear about your disappointment, well at least your sulk is well over!!!

Its possible the moss or mould spores were in the compost already or just landed there. I wouldn't bin it just yet! What size were the seeds when you sowed them?

Sulk over.

I guess I'll put the lid back on and pop them under the staging. The seeds were tiny, Alison. They were the best tended weeds in town!

Rachel, if ever you feel a sulk coming on again........... find a tree, and hug it, it works.

Hee hee

I was very sad when you told me the bad news today.

Rachel Rachel 21 May 2010 22:12:13

Might try it, Fran. When I got my tree ferns I spent a long time tree hugging and then I relaised that they have some kind of irritant dust on them...

Oh well, Wayne !
