Ferns

Tree ferns really do look fabulous with an under-planting of hostas and ferns.

I'm not a 'fern person' but I was really impressed with the large shuttle cock ferns (Matteuccia struthiopteris) used in several places at Kilquade.

ferns has their own charm :))) I saw huge ferns in parks of Peterhof, suburb of St Petersburg - and it looks like you are in prehistoric forests!

Ha ha. I actually saw 'fern persons' there! They were carvings from dead tree fern trunks. Hope your communion went well.

If ever down that neck of the woods, Geraldine...

It was fabulous, Clara. I think the talent of the planting is better shown off before the full whack of flower colour comes into play.
