Laburnum watereri 'Vossii'

Laburnum watereri 'Vossii'

I visited the Bay Garden in Camolin today with the whole family. It was a lovely sunny day for it.

Ian McDonald, of course, is just about to leave on his Chelsea trip with some friends of ours as their guide. He took some time out today though to discuss various plants and ruminate over the obvious winter losses in the beautiful Bay Garden.

I came away with a few purchase - Smilacina racemosa, Eupatorium, Euphorbia and Deschampsia.

The kids enjoyed the paddling pool today and we all enjoyed the weather. Our Laburnum tree has never looked better.

My one must be dead. I rescued one last year from the garden centre. Not a sign even of a leaf. Looks like I will be digging it up.

Yours is so 'to die for'. Great weather all round.

Must make a trip to Bay Garden some weekend soon.

Laburnum is a great tree, only drawback is all parts of it are poisonous, even the smoke of it if you were burning it, can be sickening.

Sounds like a great day out :) What kind of Eupatorium have you bought?

Oh, Liga, you were in Listoke gardens again, weren't you? I want pictures!!! =))))

Rachel Rachel 24 May 2010 19:15:05

Sorry about that, Jacinta. I have heard of Laburnums just dying ... from old age!

It is Eupatorium rugosum 'Chocolate', Olga, with red foliage. It doesn't grow too big and  unruly like some Eupatoriums do.

Lìga Lìga 25 May 2010 07:57:40

O,lucky you Rachel,i googled Eupatorium rugosum 'Chocolate',,it is beautiful!!!

Yes we went to Listokes garden,Olga, but there was some garden party or some market on,to many people was there. There was some big changes too.I will try uploud some pictures ,when i have time.
