Liga's Streptocarpus
The Streptocarpus plant that Liga gave me at our last meeting, is now in flower. Isn't it a beauty? I always think blue is such a posh colour. There are two more flower stalks on this plant waiting to open.
I think I can now actually move the plant since the flowers have opened, which is good as the plant is tucked away where it's not very visible. I believe that Streptocarpus are like orchids in that the buds may drop if you move them between when the buds form and the flowers open.
The other Streptocarpus Liga gave me as a cutting in Altamont also has flower buds. It has completely different leaves. It was potted on recently using ericaceous compost and perlite.
Liga, do you have any species names for these two completely different Streptocarpus (i)? I could get into growing these pretty plants.
