First Iris
The first iris has opening in my garden.
Actually I am a bit gob smacked because this particular clump was inherited from my late mother who found it in some top soil she was derived about 10 years ago. I do not exaggerate.
My mother was a thrifty woman who never threw anything away. This clump has never flowered in the last 10 years (as far as I am aware) despite being moved to three different addresses!
I inherited the clump in 2009 and decided to give it a year as I don't want free-loaders. This year there are loads of navy blue flowers in the clump. I just wish I could tell my mother that they came good in the end.
