I got hubby to dig up some dead bushes today. There were about six Cistus on the hill and then I sent him round to do the large Hebe by the stone circle.

Ooops - he dug up the wrong bush! He dug up the hardy Fuchsia beside the Hebe which was resprouting from the base!

I think the Fuchsia will probably be okay. No one had the energy to put it down again today but I cut off all the top branches as they were dead. Now we can see the Snake Bark Maple (Acer rufinerve) better as it was obscured by the Hebe.

I think the fuchsia will be fine too. I can't blame anyone for digging it up. It did look quite dead but there is regrowth.
