Light

long border, looking into the top of the F

What an absolutely glorious day! It wasn't just the temperature but the light was fabulous too. I think the thing I miss most in winter is the light, not the heat.

I got loads done and then settled down to finishing the long border. It really is a long (and wide) border, by the way. It divides two sections of the garden, making two 'gardens' and is F shaped with each of the two gardens in the recesses of the F.

I saw the farmer in the adjacent field ploughing up and down. I took pictures last year on 15th February when he was doing the same task. This year there is more to snap in my own garden.

So I was pleased to get it sorted and I will now put down the cocoa mulch.

Glorious day Rachel, but cold in the shade!! good work done on that HUGE bed, will be good to get the mulch on and see it take shape!

It was an amazing day yesterday, I did get out for 1 hour before the collection times started and after work!! It was so warm, got one small bed weeded and cut back!

It was really good yesterday, not the first in the past month. February was so pleasant. We are in for some more fine days. Isn't it great to get so much done outside?

I agree with you Rachel about the light. I would put up with the cold as long as you get these lovely bright days.

Thanks for your comments. I started mulching the border today but one bale (which covers 30 m²) is not going to be enough to cover the long border. Ho hum!

Hi Shazzsamsudin. Cocoa mulch is a produce from the chocolate industry. It is the cocoa husks. It makes a great mulch.

Rachel, we are going to Bellefield Open Day, Shinrone at 11am on Saturday morning and then if time permits unto Johnstown, planning to arrive there 2-3pm. I didn't like to put our name on the list in case we didn't make it. Hoping to see you all at some stage.
