Really miss the Botanic Gardens as I used to attend seminars there once a month for a course.

Do Proteas need a protected environment?

I brought mine indoors for winter, Moya. They have them in the heated glasshouse in the Botanic Gardens.

Had a quick look at the photos earlier must check them out again if you've uploaded more, lovely flower have never seen it before.

Beautiful photos,  I've only been there once but looking at those I wouldn't mind a return trip.

fab photos, love the bonsai, would love to try it, but it sounds like a lot of work, not sure if I would have the patience

Margaret, I adore the large glasshouses. They are my favourite part. We didn't go in as part of our course but I would not leave without having a look.

Bonsai are not for me either, Rosburke, but I can still appreciate them.

Lots of interesting talks coming up at the botanic gardens - I'm hoping to go to the one on thurs about Trilliums and plants from the southwest US. 

Did you make the lecture last night, Alison? I wished I could go but life got in the way.

Alison, did you see 'In Search of Great Trees' on 7th April? I am thinking of attending that.
