I don't know if it is that late for tomatoes.  I planted some tomatoe seed today and the back of the packet say plan Jan - March.

Well done. I also don't think it's that late especially for the annuals. I will keep sowing for another month or so. When the weather heats up they catch up...

I've often lost seedlings or had poor germination and started again. For example, this year my cosmos got too leggy and my french beans got hit with frost so will be starting them off again soon.

It's definitely not too late to start sowing tomatoes. My little tiddlers are doing fine now.

I've just come back from England after a long long weekend in Essex.  Very hot over there and then I come back to baking hot here!!  Peter watched over my greenhouse - I said that as long as the dodecatheon seedlings together with the tomato seedlings don't die no divorce proceedings will be taken ha ha................all is well.  Rachel, I'd say you're not too late with the annuals and definitely not with the tomatoes.   Moya, my Cosmos are a tad leggy, but I will put them in deeper when I pot them up at the weekend and then I also pinch out the middles to make them bushier.  Glorious morning here.

Had a chance to look at your Botanic garden photo's Rachel, it inspired me to grow a stellata two hundred years ago.  Love the purple Rheum too.  Thanks for posting them

I agree with others about tomatos,i will sow some soon.Now is nice warm and bright,they will grow fast.

Rachel, do you remember you gave me cosmos seedlings last year? I sowed seed from those and now I have little seedlings coming up! next generation!

That's a massive amount of seeds you really are a dedicated mum to look after all of them good luck with the rest.

Well, the seeds are sown now and I woke up this morning with a great sense of relief to have gotten them done.
