Going Potty

bronze fennel & hostas

bronze fennel & hostas

I spent the day potting on.

I wouldn't have had any idea how many plants I potted except that hubby recently bought me a load of pots and I used half of them and some others of different sizes.

So I potted on at least 150 plants today.

I got completely drenched but am showered now and am taking it easy this evening.

Sometimes I think I must be mad but then I remember all the 'free' plants I'm getting and I realise I'm not mad, just greedy :D

Well done you, photo looks great

Lovely shot of the garden.  All my bronze fennel perished over the winter.  It was very much a day for indoor gardening I think

Lovely photo like the bronze fennel set against the hosta.

Rachel Rachel 05 May 2011 22:57:33

Thanks, Fran. Always supportive :D

Margaret, I thought I'd lost my fennel too but most of it has come back in the end.

Anne, I adore the texture of fennel too in the borders but hubby thinks it's okay to break chunks off for the dinner!

Thanks, Andy, Moya & Liga :)

I'm glad you liked the article, Scrubber. It's always great to get feedback.

What a fabulous garden, I am envious. Would love to plant a variety of plants and flowers but the kids, dog would soon wreak havoc. Thats why I grabbed a corner away from exposed areas to grow veg. Even then the farmers dog occasionally calls round to tramp over some of the veg plot.

Such a contrast in texture in the hostas and fennel, both really beautiful.

Super shot, fab garden. Love your dedication on both the seed growing and potting on.

It's that time of year Rachel for potting on.... and were all greedy (all year round in my case) :-) will mail you about plant fair stuff later tonite if thats ok?

Rachel Rachel 06 May 2011 16:50:49

Thanks, folks.

It seems like you are up against it all right, Kerr. But thank you for your compliments on my garden.

Periwinkle, there's nothing wondrous about me but I am dedicated to my garden.

So true, Bill. Every way I turn there's something else begging to be potted on. No problem with the list.
