Thalictrum aquilegifolium & Allium

We took a visit to the Bay Garden this afternoon.

It is looking fabulous and really is at its peak.

The woodland area is my absolute favourite!

If you were planning on a visit this year, I'd suggest getting your ass down there!

The Bay Garden, Camolin is only open Sundays 2-6 pm.

I've put up an album of photos and there are several plants I was unable to identify so I would be grateful for any help. They are the photos with triple question marks under them.

Looks great, will have to visit.

I think No 20 is Maianthemum

           No 21 is Liriodendron tulipifera

           No 33 is Trolllius

           No 44 is Cercis siliquastrum

Hope this helps :-)

I was looking at your photos as you were putting them up. Gorgeous.

Must plan a trip sometime.

Rachel Rachel 22 May 2011 21:19:09

Thanks, Margaret. That is a great help.

I must pick your brains on a tree I have with similar leaves to the Tulip Tree. We had a Californian friend visit yesterday and he was quite sure it was the Tulip Tree. But, although healthy and strongly growing, it has never flowered and, although bought about 10 years ago, I think I would remember if it had been something as exotic as the Liriodendron. I will put up a photo tomorrow.

Jacinta, take in the Bay Garden and have lunch at mine!

Gosh, Rachel, thanks very much. I may just take you up on that kind invitation over the summer.

Rachel Rachel 22 May 2011 21:24:21

Good, Jacinta. Steve should come too. I think the Bay Garden opens on Friday too from June so if you came on Friday you could also visit the Camolin Potting Shed. Just let me know.

Lovely garden but no 20 ground cover looked like lily of the valley to me

Rachel Rachel 23 May 2011 14:27:17

Anne, no.20 is much shorted than lily of the valley. I think Margaret has it.

Going to update some of the photos with the names you gave me now, Margaret. Thanks again.

Hosta Hosta 23 May 2011 21:46:31

You're welcome Rachel.

Anne, I think it is a relative of Lily of the Valley alright
