Anemone 'Wild Swan'

I'm really loving the Chelsea coverage, taking plenty of notes on new plants.

While I think I will be giving flowering parsnips and the black Petunia a miss, I do love Tulipa acuminata, Mecanopsis punicea, Sarracenia 'Johnny Marr', Erythronium 'Hidcote Beauty' and the winner of the Chelsea Plant of the Year, Anemone 'Wild Swan'.

Have it all set to record - hard to keep up with all the programs though. Really enjoying it and absolutely love Cleve West's garden, even the flowering parsnips!

That anemone wild swan is divine,what station is it on ,see some this morning on bbc1,showed a beautiful blue verbascum ,I think it was from thompson and morgan

Its on BBC1 every day at 12.30 for half an hour and then later on BBC2 8.30-10.00 tonight and 8pm tomorrow and friday, and 7.30 on sat!

I love Cleve West's too, Alison. I see it got the Best in Show.

Jacinta, you can order the Anemone now for next spring but it is currently unavailable. Apparently it flowers for 6 weeks.

Was very taken with it too, but a friend and I were discussing it this morning and she has japanese anemones and we wonder will this one have the same habits as they wander terribly, all right for big gardens but not my city garden. I will have to take out Achillia The Pearl this autumn before it takes over the whole bed, even though I love it!

Beautiful Anemone - Thanks for supplying list. Tonight was the first I have managed to see of Chelsea really enjoyed it lovely to have one and a half hours of uninterrupted gardening viewing my idea of Heaven

Myrtle, I'm not sure it's the same 'animal' as the Japanese Anemone. The Japanese Anemone is Anemone hupehensis or a cross from this parent. White Swam is Anemone rupicola and is an alpine. I think it's more like a wood anemone although it seems to flower very late.

Liga, did you see the Lewisia 'Little Mango' will be available as seed next spring from Jelitto. One to look out for! I loved the Saxifraga too.
