I go with the intention of buying that specific plant, and buy something else entirely!

: ) Of course we all do that too. I'm trying to be good though (recession etc) and only buy as necessary. Extravagant birthday pressies are allowed though!

I have that problem ALL the time. Thats why my garden usually ends up such a mess. Everything in the wrong place.

I thought I was the only one who did that sort of thing. Nice to know I'm not alone. I replaced a lavender with nepeta last year and I'm very pleased with the effect.

I was looking at your July pictures, they are very nice. Also, I keep seeing lilies open in everybody's journals and mine are nowhere near it! I'd say they need another 3 weeks before we see the flowers. They are not any later than usual though, so perhaps it's just that particular type of lily...

I think it must be down to variety, Claire. The lilies in the photo were planted in ceramic pots in the greenhouse so they would be ahead of their sisters in the open borders. My regal lilies, in the borders, are just finishing now. Glad to hear your report on nepeta, Michael. I'll need to look our for another.
