It's snowing here in north Wexford!

Had a bit of sleet this morning here in cork, but sky looks ominous.

Snowing in North Antrim too, though it's not sticking except on the hills. We've been having flurries on and off for the past week though so it's about time you lot further south got a taste of it! ;-)

Ooooooooooh! We had a wild night here in Donegal with wind and heavy hail showers and thunder and lightening!! Do hope the snow stays away. Its a day to bake!    :)

Ha, Conrad, just back from a nice long walk, 6 - 7 miles in glorious sunshine and bright skies. Admittedly, it was cold but pleasant while walking.

Paddy, you masochist!

Gracedieu Lass Gracedieu Lass 13 December 2011 16:35:37

Nah, we both like walking and do so at a pleasant pace.

Masochism was going out to wash the windows which I had washed at the end of last week and which were absolutely stink dirty after a heavy shower of sleet today. My poor fingers were freezing.

However, as I ate a sandwich made with fresh bread at lunch and now have a touch of indigestion, I have to force  myself to drink a large glass of brandy. Torture, hah!

Oh Paddy do take care. Fresh bread can be the ruin of many a good man and copious amounts of brandy is the only known remedy. I'm told Jameson runs it close. Perhaps if you left the windows alone you wouldnt work up such a ferocious appetite. Yes rachel that description was machocistic, sistic? I think sistic. I went through two snow snorms near myshall to get my beech hedging.

No snow here on Cork's south side, and the temps haven't dropped below freezing so far either. :)

Bruno, you obviously had some frightful bursts of wind - well, not you personally, but Cork - as I read earlier in a journal from Blarney Castle where they lost two mature trees, an oak and a lime.

We had a few minutes of very strong wind here also but it didn't last.

Peter, there have been some suggestions that I eat fresh bread on purpose as I so like the cure. Of course, nothing could be further from the truth.

About 10 minutes after I posted the above comment we had a short burst of hail. That's what I get for being so smug.

Yes Paddy, lots of frightful bursts of wind LOL and the usual couple of puffs. :-P

Conrad Conrad 13 December 2011 20:02:23

Ha! Serves you right! lol :-p

We had flurries yesterday - but this morning the drive and deck were white - I felt a panic attack coming on, but fortunately it is lovely and sunny so all that dreaded white stuff is gone now!
