Trillium cuneatum

Trillium cuneatum

If there's one thing I'm good at, it's leaving things be!

Some people are dead impatient and if something doesn't show its nose, there they go, digging about, looking for it (I'm naming no names here :) I don't have that bone.

When I planted these Trillium bulbs in 2010, I read that they should be left be, that they didn't like disturbance and that they may not emerge the following year but that you should just bide your time as they are busy growing roots!

And here they are now, two out of three cuneatum. Don't you just love it :)

Yup again! ;-)

I just noticed my Trillium cuneatum poking their noses through the soil at the weekend too.

I didn't used to be fussed on them either Fran but love them now, though I still only grow a couple of types, this one and erectum.

Oh Fran, we will convert you!

Scrubber, I have every confidence in you.

Liga, why did you think I was talking about you? :D

Dick Dick 29 February 2012 22:14:27

Rachel you will have to convert me about this type of plant. You did it before with the orchids. Now I have become adicted to them where as before I joined garden.ie, I never considered them at all.

Rachel Rachel 29 February 2012 22:19:18

Ha ha. I will do my best, Dick :)

Two of my three trilliums have started to appear in the last couple of days. I'm a big fan as well.

It's such an exciting time of year! I remember your Trillium journal, Sean - last spring, I think :)
