My Altamont photos are now up if you would like to look.

My favourite bit of that garden is still the large herbaceous borders by the Plant Sales. The red side of that border is everything I aspire to!

I love the white sections too and some of the blue side.

But, don't get me wrong, the main garden is looking spectacular - the roses, down by the water and the crisply edged mixed borders.

I feel very lucky to have such a wonderful and well-maintained garden so near.

I did plenty of gardening today, weeding, edging, clipping back and got drowned wet into the bargain! But it was nothing a hot shower couldn't cure. No camera batteries at the minute so no new photos :(

ah rachel it is, everyones garden is beautiful and those places have staff to keep them looking beautiful, you have to take care of it on your own and look after a family and home......now that is the end of your scolding he he

lovely pics and you were inspired again to work so hard gardenwise in bad weather.

Cutting back, weeding, edging. All very time comsuming jobs, especially with a garden the size of YOURS!!!  You did very well, despite the horrific weather.

Rachel lovely pictures of Altamont - The monarda is really the star of the show in that section of the red border - have not had much joy with them but will have to try again they are certainly worth it - the pennstomon and day lily also looking good - I really like that dusky rose

Rachel Rachel 05 August 2012 22:46:04

We're all up against it this weather!

Mary, the Monarda is 'Gardenview Scarlet'. It is the to buy. FForget about the others.

Jacinta Jacinta 05 August 2012 22:47:02

You won't be sorry, Jacinta.
