Polygala myrtifolia limping back to life

Polygala myrtifolia limping back to life

It's a beautiful sunny morning here in Wexford although there has been frost.

Hubby's off getting me compost and chicken pellets so I can continue planting the hedge.

But I am very pleased because I have a host of new seedlings - the Zinnia, Canna and Ricinus have all germinated. In fact they were up last night.

They were all super quick! The Zinnias only took one day!!!

Congratulations to you too, Rosburke, on your new seedlings : )

Thansk, Krista, it should get better now we are into March.

Jacinta Jacinta 01 March 2010 10:13:31

Good on you, I hope you are prepared for all these seedlings, as always.

Rachel Rachel 01 March 2010 10:24:44

I had no problem finding homes for all my seedlings last year, Jacinta, and this year I have more space - vast stretches that were dug last year and are still covered in plastic membrane. My problem is to be able to start enough plants.

That must be a record 1 day to germinate, after seeing your beautiful journal photo the other day I'm going to see can I find some seeds. Sun is beating in through the windows here but on the NW side of the house it nearly looks like it skiffed snow it is so white.

Had a look at my Ricinus and they look sick Rachel only 3 from 8 where did you get yours from?

Mairin Mairin 02 March 2010 00:14:44

The difference a day can make!

Rachel Rachel 02 March 2010 09:54:11

It is pretty amazing all right - 1 day!

Sorry about your Ricinus, Bill. I got the Carmencita from T & M and the Zanzibarensis from Chiltern.

Rachel Rachel 02 March 2010 09:55:15

Bill, one thing I did notice was that I had to stake a few of them quite early on as they started to fall over. Don't know if this is what's happening to yours...
