Crambe maritima
I got a photo today of last autumn's root cuttings.
I saw the first sign that one had taken a few days ago.
So pleased they survived out horrendous winter.
This is Crambe maritima (Sea Kale).
After those journels last year I tried a few, for the fun of it still waiting.
I had to google that plant, its very unusual. If I tried to grow that Paul would tell me its a weed he is very funny when it comes to what plants he likes and doesn't. Can you still take root cuttings in Spring or is Autumn the best time.
Gismo, tell him they're edible and are grown sometimes for their leaves, which can be blanched for early harvest. I know what men are like : ) Autumn is best for root cuttings.
