There's a good article on Kalmias in The irish garden June 2011. Yours looks very well covered indeed. I have had one for about ten or more years and it has stayed the same size and the flowers are better some years than others. It reminds me of my Dad as I got it from him so its very precioua.

You have a fine, well-establised shrub there. Mine is just coming into flower too. I replaced the one that died and am very pleased with the replacement - prettier flowers.
