New Potatoes

New Potatoes

We had Christmas New Potatoes fresh from the garden on Christmas day. I have to say they were the highlight of the dinner. We planted them a little too early in our excitement to have "newies" from the garden for Christmas day, but we just left them in the earth and they were excellent!!!:-D

Can not believe the difference in the garden this Christmas from last Christmas.

I got a lovely Fairy with a Solar Lamp from "Past Times" from my hubby. Love it!!!

Wishing everyone a wonderful year in 2012. Happy Growing :-)

New Potatoes! Well done! Did you grow them indoors? I tried them last year but the frost got them even in the Greenhouse.

I hope your wrong Kitty but I just can't help feeling that we cant get away this lightly!!!!

Hazel: We grew them in potato sacks outside. I think we were just blessed with the mild weather :-)

Seems incredible, Monica, having new potatoes at this stage. I think of my uncle a generation ago. He planted his spuds and dug them up the same week! You might ask how? Well his neighbour gave him some potatoes in the spring and he planted them. Then his neighbour told him that there was anti sprout on them so all he could do was to dig them up again. Your Christmas presents look great.
