Its been a wet day but the soaking will be great for the little beech hedge surrounding the Pwincesses seat and the two azaleas that went in yesterday. It has also washed Hazel's rock clean and it looks so well,. And I got the time to label all sixty photos in the album I set up last night. So if anybody wants to recap on them ....

next I have so many beds to clean it will take me till Christmas! Got a nice size apricot Prunus (not americanus but something like that) for 10 euro in Arboretum. We were buying a present for a dear friend's birthday Magnolia L Messel and when I put the tenner with it I got a fine new handfork for nothing. a really nice one. Whats not to like!

Wow, you're a great man for the bargains! I can't believe you labeled all 60 photos - must go and have a look. That's a beauty of a Hellebore.

Snowdrops, the heralds of Spring, in such huge numbers and over such a vast expanse, along with the crocuses, the naturalising daffodils, etc etc.,  the paths and the rocks, the tracery of the taller plants and the ferns, all join up to give the Scrub a truly mystical feel.  No wonder its inhabitants love it.  They are strangely quiet these days.  Are they overcome with awe?

M. Scrubberr, you are a magnificent custodian!

Peter I've just looked through your album and all I can say is , you have definitely created a piece of heaven in your garden. It's just amazing. Wonderful areas, woodland, lawn, bottoms, it goes on and on and on. The amount of Snowdrops is incredible. You have it looking magnificent. I love it!!

Peter, your snowdrops are amazing this year. Your dividing of them are an inspiration to us all to do the same. Love the idea of the hedge behind the Pwincesses Chair. I am sure your friend was very pleased with the magnolia.

Splendid album, Scrubber. I love when there are notes with photos. What are the Azaleas you added to the garden?

'Over the edge' is like a scene from 'Lord of the rings', delightful.

The Scrub is beyond beautiful. Thank you for labelling all sixty photos, it brings the album totally to life!

That was some task labelling all those photos! Does the "bottoms" not get too waterlogged to go down this time of year? Have I got the geography right that the bottoms are down beside the river?

Scrubber Scrubber 23 February 2017 23:31:32

Hazel as always you are right. My bottoms though wet are not saturated and the squelchy path runs through it. I can walk most parts. MaryB I loved your alliteration!May I use it please? Sean my house is named Lothlorien!!!(The azaleas were two a florist gave me-they were totally dried out. I think they are indoor butI have chanced them! He was thrilled Mary (Leonard Messel) I am hugely amused at being an inspiration to you and others!!!Sr Josephine would be so proud. And astonished! Thank you so much Jackie so do I. Margot sometimes they do go quiet and contemplate the coming of Spring but they will soon break the spell! Moya Wow is more than adequate I find to express the deepest sentiments. I often think wow listening to Beethoven or mahler or Justin Bieber!
