A memory of Autumn

A memory of Autumn

Just to say Lidle has got in a lot of nice stuff. Got a good biggish magnolia stellata for a tenner! There were two sorts and nice big rhodos for thirteen euro. Id say they will be snapped up soon so if you are near a Lidle...

Great autumn colour in that photo. I'll be in Lidl today, so thanks for the heads up, Peter.

I have two Magnolia stellata in my garden for a few years. One is getting bigger and better every year. The other is not doing well. Your picture is really good.

Saw the magnolias and rhododendrons, very good value. Plants were very dry, but if kept watered over the Spring/Summer the will do really good. They will look great planted under the trees.

My soil is acidic, I think it helps, Dec. Yes Mary was sorry I had exceeded my budget before I saw them!Otherwise Id have spent and spent! Wonder is it a question of soil Dick? Or are they stellata and soulangea? You are so welcome jacinta. Thanks Fran-had used all the others in the photo journal so had to go back a bit!

Thanks Peter! I did see them but resisted..........just!!

Dec my soil is not acidic and I have two Magnolia growing here. M'stellata' is in flower at the moment too.

I must say the same as Jackie. The soil is quite limey but the Magnolias do well in it. I give them some ferrous sulphate every year.
