About my garden:
I moved into my house about 5 years ago, the garden was about 10 years old and was quite mature. Although it lacked flowers, which I'm fond of, it did have some flowering shrubs but mainly consisted of potentilla and another shrub with pinky/lilac flowers (I don't know the name) and some yellow lillies. I live on a hill and my garden is extremely windy. After the winter weather I was left with one potentilla and a couple of lillies. I dug the whole lot out and started buying bits and pieces from Lidl and Aldi as my budget was non exsistant. It didn't take long to find that this was sometimes a false economy and I started buying from Altamont Plant Sales. I have planted some Hydrangea, Roses, Hosta's, Sedums, Astilbe, Clematis, Wysteria, Ceanothus, Campanula, Lydia. I have recently started growing from seed, I tried Hollyhocks which are supposed to be extremely easy to grow but nothing happened. My latest attempt is Achillea Millefolium Cassis and Silene "Jack Flash". I would appreciate
More about me:
I am completely new to gardening, my interest was spurred by the sad loss of nearly every plant in my garden over the Winter 2010.
