About my garden: When we moved here, both the front and back garden were completely covered in grass. Since 1999, I have worked to change both.
The front garden is completely my own idea. I wanted different levels, only an arms length wide for ease of planting/weeding. The plant I am most proud of is the Magnolia tree - being originally from Co. Kilkenny where the soil is limy, I had never seen a magnolia tree until I came to Dublin. I had it in a container in the back for a while but I knew it would be "a front garden" plant. I couldn't count the number of times I have been asked about it by neighbours.
In early 2008, with a plan from Barry Lupton (registered garden designer), my husband and father-in-law began to change the back garden to make it suitable for our young family. With a generous patio area for tricycles, a gravel pit for trucks & loaders, a lawn for football and two flower beds for me, the structural work is done. I am looking forward to the flower beds getting as packed
More about me: Married to Peter with 2 children - a boy and a girl. I am the gardener while Peter is the grass cutter and handyman. The children have their few jobs - such as covering the strawberries with horticultural fleece and bringing in and out the seeds.
