About my garden: Half an acre of tidy lawn and neat flower beds - but all this will change as we dig a pond, plant trees, shrubs and flowers, and install a polytunnel and vegetable beds. We've already planted native trees - crabapples, guelder rose, hollies, birches and rowans, and have lots of seeds, roots and cuttings from our old garden. Our son's built the first compost bins and as I write a digger is creating the veggie garden, the pond and the footings for Alan's art studio...
More about me: I've been gardening with my husband Alan for over 25 years. Once upon a time we kept goats, sheep, ponies, poultry and pigs, but now we have a dog, 2 cats and a half-acre 'green desert' on the edge of the Burren where we plan to create a wildlife haven and veggie garden. I have severe arthritis so our new garden will be disabled-friendly and easy to work, with triple-height deep beds.
