About my garden:
Not really my garden - more my parents' (and the cats') - but they're happy to let me potter away in it, and that way I can leave them a living reminder of my presence when I'm no longer there. Small, sloping suburban plot with rocky, chalky soil - a nightmare to dig in BUT as I've learned you can grow a surprisingly large amount of plants in it provided you steer away from the (all too commonly abused) ericaceous ones. In fact plenty of my favourite plants (scabiosa, lavenders, salvias, thymes and other mediterranean herbs) thrive on chalk so I guess I can't complain too much! I just wish there was more space for them!
More about me:
Female, 20s I love gardening and growing vegetables (though on a smaller scale), photography (amateur!) and I'm a total film buff - I'll watch most genres from any era and country - as long as it's not dubbed - I hate dubbing! I speak French reasonably fluently and was delighted to spend a year in Provence with university. The plants there are amazing - I'm sorry now that I hadn't caught the gardening bug until after I left because there were so many places I could have visited! Never mind - Ireland is a very special, green country with plenty of lovely plants to discover and gardens to visit so my gardening curiosity is (for the moment) satisfied. ;D
