About my garden: I began working in my garden in 1977. The garden in total is about half an acre.I grow flowers, trees, shrubs in the front garden and vegetables and fruit in the back garden. I acquired a greenhouse in 2001 and have grown tomatoes in it. I propagate plants from seeds and shrubs of various kinds from cuttings. I have a vine in the greenhouse for six years and had a good crop grapes this year 2012. There is great growth in the vine now much better than other years. I pruned it at the right time and look forward to getting really good grapes. I have about 100 roses and year after year they are giving blooms.
More about me: I live in Pollerton Little, just outside Carlow. I am retired since 2001. I find the garden a great way of passing the time. I am able to get at the garden more often now. I have been getting the Irish Garden since the year it was first published. I find it very useful. I am a member of the Legion of Mary, as is Wellie and Butterfly Angel, Carlow Hurling Club and Askea Country Market. On Fridays, I have plants for sale at the Country Market, examples hydrangeas, coleus, hypericum, aloe vera and others. I grow tomato plants from seed and have them available at the market. I also supply them to my friends.
