About my garden: At the moment I don't have a garden of my own as I'm renting, but as always I grow a lot of veg and fruit in containers and hanging baskets ect. I have taken over the veggie patch at my parents home which I've filled the the good old reliables;potatoes,onions,garlic,cabbage,lettuce and other salad crops. The permanent features of the garden are the apple trees and fruit bushes which are beginning to take over the plot. So I think a new patch will have to be found for next years veggies. Not a problem, as the old patch can then become a fully fledged fruit garden. I also made a new shrub bed in the middle of the lawn which turned out rather well.Because my parents are at the stage in life when they should be only enjoying the garden it's very low maintenance and a chunk of lawn no longer needs mowing!
More about me: Hi! My name is Elaine, I'm 30 years young and I've only recently returned to Meath after some years studying and working in organic horticulture. I adore all aspects of gardening and even see weeding as a means to meditate!:-D I am at the moment looking for employment(who isn't??) and ideally would love to work in a walled garden as the part of my training I most enjoyed was the year I spent in Portumna Castle kitchen garden.
