About my garden: My garden is about the strangest shape any garden could be, this is due to the fact of been positioned at the end of a cul de sac.The majority of the garden is to the front, and extends halfway across the cul de sac, this area is surrounded by a 8ft hedge. Sadly this is now called the wilderness area due to it getting out of control and becoming completely overgrown. That is now under serious review, and will be sorted this year. The side area has been sorted this year, with a gravel area, a raised bed, archway for a climber, that leads to the back garden.
The back garden was finished last year, this is a triangular shape. I put in a large Deck running the full width of the house. There is a small water feature using an old tree trunk, there no plants or pond, as I was looking for just the sound of water in the garden, but once again the is under serious consideration. There is a mixed boarder running to the end of the garden where an other small area of raised decking went in. T
More about me: Hi, I am 50 years young, married with two teenagers, one of each. I loved gardening since I used to help in my parents garden. When I moved to Shankill it took some time to get the garden into shape, pressures of self employment, children, an extension to the house, and finally a complete change of job all added to the garden slipping out of control. So early in 2008, I finally got the drive to get things under control. While doing the back garden I picked up a few magazines etc. That is when I saw the garden.ie information, and I logged on. To say it has been the best thing I ever did for myself is putting it mildly, the help, advise and encouragement is second to none. Long may it last and grow.

This couldn’t be further away from a gardening issue ever, but please bear with me.

My first serious attempt at Topiary is coming along nicely, all that's missing is the head.
