About my garden: Our back garden faces south so is ideal for eating outside when its just family or when we are entertaining. The Garden is small and dominated by the studio but it's a lovely private spot and there is always enough to do! I had plants in the garden before the purchase of the house was complete! My Mum was such a good gardener - she could put a dead twig in to support another plant and they would both grow. A lot of my first plants were from her garden. There is a small collection of trees - Mahonia, Conifer, Cherry, convoluted hazel, Acer and two australian palms. Otherwise there is a lot of ground cover with heather, campanula and sedum. Medium size shrubs include fuschia and forsythia. There are some climbers too - passion flower, ivy and honeysuckle. My garden is usually best in spring - a riot of colour but can be a bit bland in summer - this year I'll try a bit more summer bedding to add colour!
More about me: I'm a busy person who loves to garden but often don't have the time to do much so try to keep the garden low maintenance while still interesting. I'm involved in the residents association so get plenty more weeeding and pruning there. On top of the residents association I'm now on a sub committee for the community garden on our estates green space. We got a grant to start the garden and the first thing we did (after clearing 20 years of gorse growth) was create allottments. As well as being on the committee I took an allotment (of course!) so between one thing and another I do not know whether I'm coming or going
