HeadGardener's Profile

About my garden: I have a large garden that is just over three year old. I planted trees, three borders and a lawn in my first year, I also built a deck and put in a greenhouse with raised veg beds. Then last year developed the planting a bit more , planted up two large hills we had with shrubs and made lots of plans. This year I hired a mini digger in March and dug anything that moved, creating a circular lawn at the back of the house, clearing the messy area around my greenhouse, made a new potatoe bed and created seven new borders, one of which is an exotic bed, one a mixed HP/Grass bed. I always trying to get more structure in the garden and my wife added a number of living willow fedges and willow archway for the kids in the garden this year. I have a strong vision for how it will look in 10-20 years. I garden on a slope which has been a real problem, first we had serious flooding/water problems when we first moved in January with one whole part of the site ending up swept down to the road. This
More about me: I'm a keen amateur gardener and at home full time with my three active kids who are in school, and my wife Gabriel who works hard to provide money so I can spend it on the Garden! I've been gardening for 14 years and have ambitions to do garden design at some point in the future. I used to have a small garden in a housing estate in Naas but now have a much bigger 2 Acre Garden, which is quite a lot of work. I'm a typical male gardener and love big bold planting, ferns and exotics and am a bit of a plantaholic.
