About my garden:
Its very green and has lots of unusual plants and trees, a pauwlonia for instance in a tall tree pot which has huge velvety leaves, a cornelian cherry cut into an unusual shape and blooms in february. A southern blue gum(eucalyptus) which is bonsai-d in a plastic bin buried in the ground and surrounded by golden oregano and in the front garden a magnificent acer with leaves like lace and an enormous pallette of colours throughout the year, wisteria sinensis growing over front door (took eleven years to flower) and is beautiful in May. There is a small fern garden in the back as well which has among others tree fern which I bought for a tenner in a small pot and is about 2-3 ft in the trunk, a little painted fern and many others . But my pride and joy is the wildlife pond which has no fish but loads of frogs newts and pondskaters. Its surrounded by alsorts of ornamental grasses and reeds dotted with flowers and rocks and has a small beach area to allow wildlife easy access.
More about me:
I have a fairly mature garden and I love gardening. Grew plants first in old wooden cheese box from a packet of seeds bought in woolworths, I was 8yrs old then and discovered I had green fingers.I had no garden then but now I live near the sea and have the garden of my dreams with almost every plant I could possibly fit in it and organically grown too. I've been to art college and love photography and painting and drawing, also have 3 three grandchildren who all love the garden (especially the swing.I'm not very tidy and mostly love foliage ,texture and trees with vivid colour dotted here and there.
