About my garden: my garden is approx a third of an acre and is divided into different areas. It has 2 ponds, a gravel area, mixed borders and a small woodland area. I have 2 glasshouses and several lidl/aldi type frames. I love hostas and hellebores ( and almost all other plants if the truth be told). I like to grow plants from seeds and cuttings although in the past 2 years this has curtailed due to college exams falling at the same time. so heres to next year!
I have been gardening here for close on 20 years and have recently started to renew some areas which have become overgrown which means having to go in search of new plants -
Sadly, like so many others I lost some nice plants in the cold snap - several Dicksonias, Myrtles, Bottlebrushes and an Astelia. I have several Hostas which I like to collect and a good number of Rhododendrons and Azaleas which we are lucky to be able to grow due to lack of lime.
More about me: My name is Margaret and I live near Mallow in County Cork, As well as gardening I enjoy painting, reading,and travel.
I love visiting gardens and have been to Great Dixter, Beth Chattos,Monet's Garden, Heligan and the Eden Project amongst others.
