Adding horse manure to compost bin

Can I add fresh horse manure to my compost bin or should I store it somewhere else for a period? I make compost in a purposemade plastic bin but find that it is very slow to turn into compost even though it is composed of grass, old plants, veg etc. Would the addition of the horse manure help?

Horse manure would be better stacked to one side and allowed to break down. Compost takes more or less time depending on temperatures, but it can speed up by developing its own heat, which happens in a bigger heap.
