i’ve a large and flourishing bamboo plant in the wrong position in my garden. I want to put it into trough style planters and it should divide up into 4-6 plants. when should i divide it and what sort of compost / soil should i use in the pots that i’m putting the divided plants into?

Bamboo is never happy in pots for very long and much better in the open soil … think of all that watering.
It can be divided in spring, just before the start of new growth, or as it is starting. It likes rich soil with plenty of humus.
