I’ve completely removed an 86 foot long escallonia hedge. I’ve decided on Laurel as a replacement. Which is the best choice, bare root (2 Euros apx per plant) or potted (3.50 upwards per plant). As I’m investing alot of time and energy on this project, I want to make the right decision. Finally, how far apart would you recommend.

Pot-grown plants are more reliable, but will still need to be watered, though not as often.40 to 60cm apart is fine for laurel. The closer spacing gives a quicker closing-up of the hedge.
