I have planted carrot seeds about 3 weeks ago , they had all started to come up and were about 2 cm, in the last couple of days they have disappeared, can you tell me if you think this is down to carrot fly or do slugs like to munch on the young seedlings? Do you have any advice on what to do if I sow them again.

Slugs and snails are very fond of young seedlings and can eat a row is a short time. It is not carrot fly which cause root damage later and the tops do not disappear.

When you sow again, and there is plenty of time, watch for the snails and control them if necessary by whatever method you prefer.
