cherry blossom tree

I have a now rather large cherry blossom tree on my front lawn. I am told the roots may, or may have already spread under the house. Should I worry ?

The roots may well have spread under the house wall, but they are not a danger, unless possibly the tree is within a metre of the wall.

The concern is often expressed but, while garden walls are sometimes lifted and cracked. it does not happen to house walls, or only very rarely to old poorly built houses.
