Clematis President wilting

The top of our clematis is wilting. it approx 1.2m high planted in a large pot.The rest of the plant is fine .Much obliged for any helpthankPlease could you advise.

Usually when a clematis wilts in summer, it is due to clematis wilt disease. However, this is unlikely to happen in a pot as the wilt disease is associated with wet ground.

Check the stems for signs of snail damage as they often climb clematis and eat leaves and stems.
