Climbing rose has dry leaves

Deirdre Williams asked 13 years ago

I have a climbing rose in a large pot under a roofed decking area. It is just flowering but I have noticed that some of the leaves have curled up and completely dried out. Is this a natural phenomenon or is there a problem with the plant? I water the pot regularly but the leaves rarely get wet, could this be the problem?

It is likely that the rose dried out a little recently, even for a short period. New leaves will grow.

Roses are not happy long-term in pots as they have a tendency to dry out and are natural deep rooters.
