i would like to know what flowers i can plant that will grow year after year without having to plant them again. Also what can I plant in my flowers beds etc that will grow/flower throughout the year?

The plants you are looking for are called border perennial flowers.
If you go to our Plant Finder in Know-how and select ‘Perennial flower’ in the Plant type box, you will find a good selection. You can also select the box for Best season to find plants for each season of the year.
