Hibiscus

Maura Morrissey asked 15 years ago

I have a hibiscus growing in the garden for about 10 years now and every year it produces millions of flower buds. They get bigger and bigger and just as they are about to bloom, they just fall off. It has never actually flowered for me. It gets lots of sun and is in a walled garden. Does it need lots of heat or should I feed it more?

This is common with hibiscus, especially double-flowered kinds. It is weather-related and needs a really good summer to flower. Nothing to be done.
