i planted lillies 2 years ago the first year they produced a yellow flower,last year red and this year both red and yellow. could you please explain the reason for this

More than likely there was a mix of bulbs, the red being too small to flower the first year, but flowering the second and then the yellow being too weak, and now both big enough to flower.
