magnolia problem

I had a magnolia susan for over two years in a pot , i planted it out in March ,but theres only a few leaves on it ,should i feed it? iv checked the bark and its still green .what would you recommend i do?

Magnolia can become a bit tired in a pot but shoudl recover in time when planted in the open ground.

Its leaves may have been eaten by snails, which can climb and you need to check on this.

Or it is possible that you planted it too deeply … the top of the root ball should be at ground level.
