Nettle brew

Willie Browne asked 14 years ago

Is it true that nettle brew is a good nutrient for veg plots, lawns & shrubs compared to other enhancers or do you still need to give those areas another fertilisers boost.

Nettles have high levels of nutrients as they like to grow in rich soil. You can make a liquid feed by steeping nettles in water and diluting the soup by 5 to ten times.

While this feed is a good tonic, the basic level of fertility in the soil needs to be kept up by feeding with manure and/or fertilizers.
