A pear tree, planted 3 years ago, looks really healthy and produced flowers this year but they didn’t develop into fruit. Should we have pollinated them by hand, perhaps?

There are various reasons why this might have happened … harsh weather, lack of pollen, vigour of the trees.

They are still young, do not over-feed, especially compost, manure or chicken manure pellets. These are too rich.
